I found this Dumore "Tom Thumb" tool post grinder at the flea market this morning. It runs great! This grinder is so small I think it would fit just about any lathe! It is 2 speeds, takes 1/8" to 2" dia grinding wheels. I would think it would be easy enough to find a collet to fit it. He was asking 40, I offered 20. He came back with 30.
May 29, 2013· There is one job for which a lathe tool post grinder is actually the best choice. That is truing the hard jaws on a universal chuck while it is installed on its own lathe. You have to have the proper way to load the jaws during grinding, but you end up with improved accuracy. Old newspaper is an ideal way cover while grinding.

I also made a ltool holder that will hold a Fordoem tool in a rocker tool post. A Dumore tool post grinder will cost you a few hundred dollars on Ebay or much more new.
